# How we test tools, plugins and sites

At Online IT BD, a tool, plugin or site is used by us before anything is written about it. This page explains what we look at, which devices we use, and where the limits of our tests are.

## What we look at

Every product test looks at six things: speed, use on a phone, Bangla text, install and setup, and the state after an update. A piece is written after using the product, not after hearing its name.

| What we look at | How we look | Why it matters |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Speed | Open it on a phone on mobile data and watch the time | The real problem shows on a slow network |
| Use on a phone | Check buttons, text and tables on a small screen | Most customers arrive from a phone |
| Bangla text | Check the Bangla font, line height and broken words | Many tools do not show Bangla well |
| Install and setup | Install on a clean site and follow the steps | Documentation and reality can differ |
| Updates | Look at everything again after an update | An update often breaks something |
| Limits | Write what does not work as well | So a reader does not expect too much |

## Which devices we test on

Testing happens in three places: a low cost Android phone, an iPhone, and an ordinary laptop. We use the phone's mobile data, not only office wifi. Your customers use the same kind of phone and network.

## How we test

- Install the product on a clean site.
- Run it with the default settings, then change them.
- Open it on a phone and check speed, text and buttons.
- Place Bangla text and see where it breaks.
- Run an update and see if anything breaks.
- Write down both what works and what does not.

## Why we do not give a score or a rating

One number hides too much. The same product can be fast in one place and slow in another. Instead of a number we write what we tested, in which setting, and where the limit is. A reader can then compare it with their own work.

## When we look again

We test again when a product gets a major update. We also read old pieces at the end of the year to see if the facts still hold. When the date changes, the update date on the page changes too.

## The limits of our tests

Our tests use our workspace, our internet and our data. Your server, your theme or your customer's behaviour can be different. We cannot test every possible theme or plugin pair. Anything we could not test is stated clearly in the piece.

## Corrections

If a result looks wrong or we get new information, we check it, correct it, and change the update date. To report a mistake, email onlineitbd.com@gmail.com with the subject Correction, page link.

## No paid reviews

No company can pay for a review, a score or a best label. We write what we tested, not who paid.

## Common questions

### Which tools do you use in a test?

An ordinary browser, the phone's own internet and screenshots. We have no special measuring device, so we make no claim we cannot support.

### Can you test every plugin?

No. We test selected products and state the limits in every piece. We do not write a review of a product we have not tested.

### How quickly does a review go out of date?

We look again when a product gets a major update or at the end of the year. If the information looks old, check the update date.
